MY STORY

Behind the Words

From the time I was in seventh grade, I knew I wanted to be a journalist. I am endlessly curious about people and what motivates them.

I spent more than a decade writing for newspapers like The San Diego Union-Tribune and The Los Angeles Times. I’ve written about everything from school lunches to foreclosure fraud, from brain injuries to bogus charities.

More recently, prompted by my own interest in preserving family history, I began writing biographies and ghost-writing memoirs. I think preserving one’s life story and reflecting on how we want to rewrite our story is one of the greatest gifts we can give ourselves, our kids and our loved ones.
